On Saturday the 7 December we had our annual rapid open for seniors and juniors. This year we held it at the Panmure Community Centre on the same day as the Panmure Santa Parade. As far as I am aware the clash did not cause any problems.
The junior tournament was six rounds and we used a tie-breaker system recommended by FIDE. This is because we cannot have split prizes.
Congratulations to the overall winner, 10 year old, Jack Sun on 5.5 points. The other cup winners for the overall tournament are-

Book prize for 4th went to Oliver Picken on 4.0 points

We had 28 juniors all together and there were no issues so I would like to congratulate all the entrants on their great sportsmanship.
For the last 4 Years at least the Santa Parade has
been held on the 2nd Wed in Dec. our Junior Prize
Giving night.
Therefore we moved the Junior Prize Giving to the
2nd Tues in Dec, and informed the Bowling Club.
This Year they moved the Santa Parade to the
1st Wed in Dec – our last Junior Chess night.
We didnt know until Monday 2nd Dec. too late
to make any changes.
