2nd = Emily Massey and Fergus Lee on 4 points
B Grade 1st = Joanna Lee and Manit Kc on 5 out of 6 points with
2nd – 3rd = Jasraj Singh Chadha and Andrew He on 4 points.
OUTSTANDING effort by Hugh Gao in the A Grade where he was the
Lowest Rated player in that grade.
ALSO good results in the B Grade by Andrew He and Manit Kc
1st = Christopher and Ryan on 5 points out of 6
followed by – Fergus, Rebekah and Hugh on 4.5 /6

seems a lot of players kept forgetting there were 2 Rounds each night and ran away early,
others who turned up late did not hear the reminder that there were 2 rounds per night
and wandered off after their game. Also people did not mark their results on the draw sheet
or inform MR McRAE of who won – this held up the drawing of the next round.
PEOPLE – PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MARK YOUR RESULTS – and always check if there are more rounds before going home.

The PIF Clive Wilson Junior Spring Cup 2014 began on 27.8.2014 – a position is set up and everyone plays on from there – one game as White and one as Black – 2 Rounds per night for 6 Rounds over 3 nights.
This year all Juniors with a club rating of 425 or higher were withdrawn from the Tournament to give the lower rated players a chance at winning a cup.
Instead their games from JWK2014 were reviewed and a Lecture on Queen Pawn Openings and basic – King and Pawn v King endings was given.
More Lectures on triangulation in King and Pawn endings , how to play and win the Lucena Position and how to defend with the Philidor Position will follow – and
Other ways for Black to respond to the Two Knights Defence and other ways to reply to 1.e4
